Tragic Murders Linked to Old Rivalry in Ghazipur Village
Discovery of Bodies in Ghazipur
In a disturbing incident in a village of Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, the body of a third victim has been recovered from a pond, following a series of murders stemming from an old feud. Authorities confirmed on Tuesday that all three bodies have now been located.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Iraz Raja reported that the body of 23-year-old Ankit Singh was found after the water level in the pond of Gahmar village decreased over the past few days. He mentioned that the bodies of two other young men, Vicky Singh and Saurabh Singh, had already been discovered and sent for autopsy.
In connection with this case, two men and one woman have been arrested, while three to four additional individuals are being questioned. Local residents and witnesses noted that Ankit Singh's body had bloated in the water, but due to the severe cold, it did not become prey for fish.
Social worker Ishwar Singh from Gahmar village expressed that this incident is both unfortunate and tragic. He emphasized the need for parents to guide the youth properly, warning that without proper direction, the situation could worsen.
He added that the pond from which the body was retrieved spans six bighas and is quite deep, continuously receiving water from the village, which keeps it filled. Police indicated that the murders were committed with sharp weapons last Wednesday due to an ongoing rivalry between youths from two local settlements, and the bodies were subsequently disposed of in the pond. Following complaints from the victims' families, a case has been registered against 12 individuals, with further arrests likely as the investigation continues.
