Tragic Murder of Geeta and Her Daughter in Lucknow Shocks Community
The Heartbreaking Incident
The brutal slaying of 28-year-old Geeta and her 6-year-old daughter Deepika in Lucknow has left the entire community in shock. Geeta's body was discovered in her locked room, alongside her daughter's lifeless form. The fact that this crime occurred in a closed space has baffled the authorities.
During the investigation, police uncovered two smartphones belonging to Geeta. One device was primarily used for social media and WhatsApp, while the other was used for making calls. A deep dive into the call records revealed startling information.
Authorities found that Geeta had communicated with a specific number 1,694 times over the past 11 months. However, there had been no calls to this number in the last 20 days. This number belonged to Vikas, the nephew of Geeta's husband.
Investigations revealed that an illicit affair had developed between Geeta and Vikas during the pandemic. Vikas had previously traveled to Kuwait but returned at Geeta's request. He had accumulated a debt of 300,000 rupees and began working at a local clothing store.
Geeta frequently asked Vikas for money and jewelry. After her demands for a saree during Karwa Chauth went unmet, their communication ceased. For the past 20 days, Geeta had stopped answering Vikas's calls, which left him agitated.
On the night of the 15th-16th, Vikas entered Geeta's home through the back. To get her attention, he dropped some utensils in the kitchen. Mistaking the noise for a cat, Geeta opened the door. Vikas attempted to apologize, but Geeta refused to engage.
Offended by Geeta's harsh words, Vikas struck her on the head with a nearby stick. He then used a kitchen knife to take her life.
The Tragic Fate of Deepika
Hearing her mother's screams, young Deepika woke up and witnessed the horrifying scene. In a fit of rage, Vikas also killed the innocent child, leaving both mother and daughter dead.
Vikas was taken into custody for questioning. He broke down in tears during the interrogation and confessed to the crime. The stick and knife used in the murder were recovered. Vikas explained that his anger and feelings of rejection drove him to commit this heinous act.
