Tragic Murder of Forester in Nayagarh: Wife and Son Arrested

Details of the Incident

The victim has been identified as Shishir Sahu, a forester employed in the Sarankul Pancharida area. On Friday night, authorities discovered his partially charred body at his residence, as reported by Nayagarh SDPO Jyoti Ranjan Samantray. Following this grim discovery, police apprehended his wife, Namita, and their son, Abhishek, the very next day.

Police reports indicate that Namita sustained minor injuries during the incident, while Abhishek was unharmed. Preliminary investigations suggest that family disputes may have led to this tragic event, as Shishir reportedly spent considerable time away from home, limiting his interactions with his family.

During questioning, both Namita and Abhishek admitted to dousing Shishir with petrol and igniting him. Firefighters responded promptly to the scene, managing to extinguish the flames and recover Shishir's body, which was found within the house. Both mother and son have confessed to their involvement in this horrific act.
