Tragic Murder in Sonipat: Father Kills Daughter Over Marriage Dispute

In a shocking incident in Sonipat, Haryana, a father has allegedly murdered his daughter. The family had been embroiled in a dispute over the daughter's desire to marry a man of her choice, which the family opposed. This disagreement had escalated to physical confrontations on several occasions.

Details of the Incident

The victim, identified as Chinu, was a second-year ANM student at a private college. Her family insisted she marry someone they approved of, leading to ongoing tensions. Tragically, the father resorted to violence, using a knife to inflict multiple wounds on her body, ultimately leading to her death.

On the day of the incident, Chinu's mother had stepped out to visit a neighbor. At home were her father Anil, her brother, and Chinu. After a heated argument with her father, Chinu felt threatened and called the Durga Shakti police team for assistance.

Police Intervention

The police arrived and attempted to mediate between the father and daughter for about half an hour before leaving. Shortly after, around 11:15 AM, Anil locked the door from the inside and attacked Chinu with a knife, striking her in various parts of her body before ultimately slitting her throat. Disturbingly, her brother did not intervene during the attack.

Aftermath of the Crime

When the police returned after receiving further information, they found Chinu's lifeless body covered in blood near the gate of the house, with blood splattered throughout the premises. Anil was arrested at the scene, and both Chinu's mother and brother were also taken into custody. Anil was known to work in transportation, with his son assisting him.

Authorities are now investigating the roles of other family members in this tragic case. A formal complaint has been filed against the accused, and further legal actions are underway.
