A horrifying incident has emerged from Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly murdered her ex-boyfriend after being tormented by his blackmailing. Following their breakup, the man was lured under the pretense of a meeting and was subsequently killed with the assistance of her brother and sister-in-law. The police have apprehended the suspects and revealed the details of the case.
Details of the Murder Unveiled
The murder took place on February 10 in the Rasra police station area. The victim's body was discovered in Lohata village, showing signs of severe acid burns, particularly on the face to prevent identification. Upon receiving the report, the police faced challenges in identifying the deceased, later confirmed to be Pankaj Gupta from Azamgarh. Investigations revealed that he had previously been in a relationship with a local woman.
Breakup Leads to Fatal Consequences
According to police reports, the woman had recently gotten engaged, prompting her to end her relationship with Pankaj. Upon learning of her engagement, Pankaj attempted to disrupt the wedding. When his efforts failed, he resorted to blackmailing her with explicit photos, which led the woman to confide in her brother and sister-in-law, resulting in a sinister plot.
Execution of the Plan
The police stated that the woman invited Pankaj to a wedding of an acquaintance on February 5, under the guise of reconciliation. Pankaj, pleased by the invitation, arrived, only to be ambushed by the woman, her brother, and sister-in-law, who then murdered him. To conceal their crime, they disfigured his face with acid from an inverter.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Following the arrests, SP Ombeer Singh held a press conference to disclose the details of the case. He confirmed that Pankaj had been blackmailing the woman with explicit images, pressuring her to abandon her fiancé. The police have arrested three out of five identified suspects, while two remain at large, with efforts underway to locate them.
