Hyderabad, July 11: A disturbing incident has emerged from Ranga Reddy district in Telangana, where a 35-year-old man is accused of murdering his wife and two young sons, followed by an attack on a teenage girl who had previously reported him for sexual harassment, along with two family members.
Authorities have initiated an extensive manhunt for the suspect, who is currently on the run.
Reports indicate that the suspect, named Rajkumar, commenced his violent actions on Friday night, targeting his wife, 30-year-old Parvathi Saritha, and their two sons, aged four and one, at their home in Shabad.
After the initial murders, Rajkumar allegedly proceeded to the home of a 17-year-old girl who had lodged a complaint against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in May. Investigators suspect he forcibly abducted her to a remote area, where she was reportedly killed.
According to sources, Rajkumar is also believed to have murdered the girl's 45-year-old mother and her 65-year-old grandmother at their residence. The teenager's 20-year-old sister, who has disabilities, was present during the incident but was unharmed.
Senior police officials revealed that Rajkumar contacted his father after the murders, allegedly confessing to the crimes before turning off his phone. He hinted at a desire to take his own life, although police have not verified this information.
Multiple police teams are actively searching for the suspect, with several leads being investigated.
Rajkumar and Parvathi had a love marriage in 2018 and lived in Shabad and Devalaguda. They had three children, but their eldest daughter passed away in infancy.
In May, Rajkumar was arrested following the teenage girl's allegations of stalking and harassment. He reportedly followed her from her coaching classes to her home, pressuring her to accept his advances. He later secured anticipatory bail after the court determined the charges carried a maximum sentence of less than seven years.
Authorities noted that Rajkumar had a history of behavioral issues. Family members informed investigators that he struggled with mental health challenges, developed a gambling addiction, and faced significant financial difficulties.
Relatives who visited Rajkumar's home after the incident reported that the two children seemed to have been killed while asleep, while evidence of a violent struggle was apparent in the room where Parvathi's body was discovered. They also mentioned that the doors were locked from the inside, and the fan, air-conditioner, and cooler were left running.
Forensic teams are currently analyzing all crime scenes, and investigators are piecing together the timeline of events to determine the motive behind these horrific acts. The investigation is ongoing.
