Devastating Iranian Missile Attacks Impact Israel
Tel Aviv: Israeli President Isaac Herzog has conveyed his profound sadness following the Iranian missile strikes that resulted in at least ten fatalities and over 200 injuries in various Israeli cities.
In a post on the social media platform X, Herzog described the day as 'a very sad and difficult morning.'
He stated, 'Our sisters and brothers were murdered and injured last night due to criminal Iranian attacks targeting civilians in Bat Yam, Tamra, and other areas. This tragedy affects Jews and Arabs alike, including children, the elderly, and both men and women.'
Herzog expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and shared his hopes for the swift recovery of the injured and the safe return of those missing. 'We will mourn together and overcome this tragedy together,' he added.
The missile strikes hit Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, and Tamra, leading to significant destruction. Reports indicate that around 20 individuals are still unaccounted for in Bat Yam, according to local news sources.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that the Home Front Command's Search and Rescue Brigade is actively engaged in rescue operations at the impacted sites.
The IDF reported that four fatalities occurred at one strike location, with over 100 individuals injured in various attacks. The overall death toll has reached at least ten, with injuries exceeding 200.
Hospitals in central Israel are currently treating the injured. Wolfson Medical Centre in Holon has admitted 65 patients, with five in critical condition, seven moderately injured, and the remainder with minor injuries.
Shamir Medical Centre in Be'er Ya'akov is caring for 28 individuals, including one in critical condition and one moderately injured, while 20 others have light injuries. Six patients are receiving psychological support for anxiety.
Sheba Medical Centre in Tel Hashomer has received 37 patients, most of whom have light to moderate injuries.
Assuta Medical Centre in Ashdod is treating five patients, one critically injured and the others in moderate condition.
