Tragic Love Story: Man Arrested for Murdering His Married Lover in Jalaun
Incident Overview
In Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, a man has been apprehended on charges of murdering his married girlfriend. The suspect reportedly killed her due to her insistence on living together, which he was unwilling to accept, especially since he did not want to take responsibility for her and her two children. Despite numerous discussions, when she refused to relent, he decided to end her life.
Discovery of the Body
On June 7, an unidentified body was discovered at Bhimtal Lake in Nainital, later identified as Pushpa Tiwari from Jalaun. Following this, the Nainital police informed their counterparts in Jalaun, who began searching for the suspect. Recently, they successfully arrested Abhishek Srivastava, the alleged murderer.
Background of the Victim and Suspect
The incident took place in Dakor village, where Pushpa Tiwari, aged 30, was married to Rishi Tiwari in 2016 and was a mother of two. She had been pursuing a BSc degree but had to drop out due to her children. Abhishek Srivastava, 32, who lived in the same village, was tutoring Pushpa's children, which led to their affair.
Details from the Suspect
During police interrogation, Abhishek explained that he initially had little interaction with Pushpa while tutoring her children. However, their relationship developed over time. He claimed he never promised to be with her, but she insisted on running away together, which ultimately frustrated him and led to her murder.
On May 27, he lured Pushpa to Delhi, and after a few days, when he suggested she return home, she refused. On May 30, he took her to Uttarakhand, where he intoxicated her with alcohol in a hotel room. Later, while sitting near Bhimtal Lake, he pushed her into the water when she was heavily intoxicated and returned to Delhi.
Investigation and Arrest
According to CO Jalaun, Shailendra Bajpai, Rishi Tiwari filed a missing person report for his wife, whose body was found on June 6 in Bhimtal. Following the discovery, Rishi implicated Abhishek, leading to a manhunt. When the suspect could not be located, a reward of ₹25,000 was announced for information leading to his capture. Ultimately, on July 8, Abhishek was arrested based on a tip-off, where he confessed that Pushpa's persistent demands led him to commit the crime.
