Tragic Love Story Ends in Violence: A Shocking Crime in Delhi
A Heartbreaking Incident Unfolds
What started as a delicate romance in Uttarakhand culminated in a horrific event this week in the narrow streets of Delhi’s Majnu Ka Tila.
Driven by jealousy, obsession, and perceived betrayal, a man brutally murdered his ex-girlfriend and her six-month-old daughter, silencing them with tape before using a surgical blade to end their lives.
The suspect, identified as Nikhil, a 26-year-old employed in a restaurant, was apprehended in Haldwani following an extensive manhunt across multiple states. Authorities revealed that his paranoia escalated due to suspicions that his former partner, Sonal, was involved with another man and had terminated their pregnancy without his knowledge.
On Tuesday, Nikhil entered a friend’s residence where Sonal and her baby girl—believed to be the daughter of the man he suspected—were staying. What transpired next was a brutal act of violence.
According to officials, Nikhil restrained both victims by taping their mouths to stifle their screams before he slit Sonal’s throat. He then decapitated the infant, allegedly as a twisted act of revenge.
The couple had a tumultuous past, marked by domestic violence and a shocking incident where they attempted to sell their newborn for Rs 2 lakh in Uttarakhand. Recently, Sonal had left Nikhil and sought safety with a friend. The infant’s uncle, still in disbelief, expressed, “How could anyone commit such an atrocity? She was just a baby.”
