Tragic Love Proposal Leads to Fatal Assault in Odisha

In a shocking incident from Balasore district, Odisha, a simple love proposal resulted in the tragic death of a young man. This case, which occurred in the Simulia police jurisdiction, has sent shockwaves throughout the community.

Details of the Incident

Reports indicate that Subhash Sutar, a resident of Purushottampur Panchayat, expressed his love to a girl from Birbhramapur village, located under the Kanchapada Panchayat, via phone. Upon learning of this, the girl's father, Bhagwan Kar, took drastic measures.

Brutal Assault

Bhagwan Kar allegedly summoned Subhash and transported him to Birbhramapur village in a vehicle. Once there, the situation escalated into a horrifying act of violence. Subhash was reportedly tied to a pole at the local Anganwadi center, situated within the Birbhramapur school premises, and was brutally beaten. This assault left him with severe injuries and in critical condition.

Medical Emergency

Local residents managed to rescue Subhash and rushed him to Simulia Hospital. However, his condition deteriorated rapidly, necessitating a transfer to Bhadrak Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police Response

Devaraj Jena, the officer in charge of Simulia police station, stated, "The deceased's brother-in-law filed a murder complaint this morning. A case has been registered against the girl's father and relatives concerning the love proposal that led to this tragic outcome. An investigation is underway, and action will be taken soon." Currently, one individual has been detained, and the police are actively investigating the matter.
