A Fatal Encounter in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad where a 23-year-old engineering student was fatally stabbed due to an ongoing love affair, despite prior warnings from the girl's family, police reported on Friday.

The victim, identified as Yuvan, was attacked late Thursday night in the Chilkalguda locality of Secunderabad.

Originally from Jawaharnagar, Yuvan was in his third year at a private engineering college.

He had visited Indiranagar in Chilkalguda to meet his girlfriend, with whom he had been involved for four years. Despite warnings from her relatives to end the relationship, Yuvan chose to continue seeing her.

On the night of the incident, while Yuvan was with friends watching a cricket match on his phone, the girl's relatives confronted him and allegedly assaulted him with knives, inflicting approximately 17 stab wounds.

He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Following the incident, police transported his body to the mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Tensions escalated in the area as Yuvan's family protested outside the girl's residence in Sitaphalmandi, demanding justice for his murder.

Some protestors attempted to breach the house, prompting police intervention to restore order.

Authorities have arrested two suspects and are actively searching for additional individuals involved.

Yuvan had previously lived in Sitaphalmandi before moving to Jawaharnagar.

In response to the rising violence in Telangana, K. T. Rama Rao, Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), expressed concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation.

He highlighted that while a BRS delegation was meeting with the Telangana DGP to discuss these issues, another shocking incident occurred: the murder of the wife of a retired IPS officer in a secure area. Rama Rao criticized the police for focusing on political harassment rather than maintaining public safety.
