Farewell to a Brave Soldier
Faridabad: The sun rose over the village of Sahupura on Monday, casting a shadow of sorrow mixed with pride. The community gathered to pay their last respects to 26-year-old soldier Mohit Kumar, who lost his life during training at the Indian Army's Special Forces Training School. Mohit was undergoing rigorous training at the esteemed facility located in Bakloh, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. On April 18, he sustained a severe head injury near his ear while practicing boxing.
His elder brother performed the last rites, lighting the funeral pyre. A large crowd attended the soldier's final journey, reflecting the deep respect and admiration held for him. Mohit Kumar was practicing boxing at the Special Forces Training School when the unfortunate incident occurred, leading to his hospitalization at the military hospital in Bakloh.
Despite medical efforts, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away on Sunday. Central Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar, along with local MLA Mulchand Sharma and representatives from various political parties, attended the funeral to express their condolences to Mohit's family.
An Irreplaceable Loss
The untimely passing of Mohit Kumar at just 26 years old is a significant loss not only for his family but also for the Indian Army and the state of Haryana. Being selected for such a challenging wing as the Special Forces is a testament to his skill and bravery. Today, the village of Sahupura mourns the sacrifice of its son while also feeling immense pride in his dedication to serving the nation.
