Landslide Incident Near Kedarnath National Highway

A vehicle transporting pilgrims from Chhattisgarh was caught in a landslide near Kund, close to the Kedarnath National Highway in Uttarakhand. This unfortunate event resulted in the death of one individual and left five others injured.


According to reports from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local authorities and SDRF teams promptly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue and relief operations. They managed to extract the injured individuals from the vehicle and transported them to the nearby Augustmuni Hospital. Among the injured, two are in critical condition, while three others sustained minor injuries.


The deceased was identified as Rajesh Singh Rawat, a 38-year-old driver from Lambgaon in Tehri Garhwal district, who was guiding the Chhattisgarh travelers on their pilgrimage to Kedarnath. All the injured passengers hail from Durg district in Chhattisgarh, with ages ranging from 19 to 25 years.
