Landslide Incident in Kullu

On Saturday, rescue teams in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, recovered four more bodies from the debris in the landslide-affected Akhada Bazaar area, raising the death toll to eight, as confirmed by an official.


Mukesh Repaswal, the Deputy Commissioner of Chamba, reported that the rescue operation in the Bharmour-Manimahesh region concluded after successfully airlifting 64 stranded pilgrims.


Toral S Ravish, the Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, stated that landslides occurred in the Akhada Bazaar area on Tuesday and Thursday, resulting in the destruction of several buildings. One individual remains unaccounted for.


The four deceased have been identified as local resident Narendra and Kashmir natives Bakr Ahmad, Hussain Lone, and Tahir Deen Ahmad Sheikh. Authorities noted that the prolonged entrapment on the pilgrimage route led to the tragic loss of 17 lives.
