Tragic Incidents Involving Assam Migrant Workers Raise Concerns
Migrant Workers from Assam Face Distress

North Lakhimpur, Aug 7: Two migrant workers hailing from Lakhimpur district in Assam have encountered tragic fates in separate incidents outside their home state, causing distress for their families.
Pradeep Gogoi, who resides in No. 4 Nimuri village, has been unaccounted for since August 6 while he was en route to Bengaluru for employment on the 22504 Dibrugarh–Kanyakumari Vivek Superfast Express.
His family reported that Pradeep disembarked at Bhubaneswar railway station on the morning of August 6 but did not manage to reboard the train before its departure.
His wife mentioned that he was in touch with fellow travelers who suggested he take a local train from Bhubaneswar around 9 PM.
Unfortunately, Pradeep ceased responding to calls from his family, and his mobile phone was later discovered to be turned off. Since then, there has been no update regarding his location.
The disappearance of Pradeep, a father of two, has plunged his family into deep worry and uncertainty as they await any news about him.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragedy involving a migrant worker from Lakhimpur who passed away in Kerala.
On August 4, Bitul Gogoi, a resident of Ujani Phukan Gaon under Ghilamora Police Station in Dhakuakhana, died under unclear circumstances. Reports indicate that he fell from a moving train while traveling in Kerala.
These incidents underscore the significant challenges and dangers faced by migrant workers from Assam as they seek employment opportunities in other states.
