Jammu, Sep 23: On Wednesday, officials reported the discovery of two deceased policemen in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. In a separate incident, the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has gone missing in Kathua district.
The two policemen were found unresponsive inside a vehicle in Ramban late Tuesday night. Head Constable Farid Ahmed and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob, both stationed at the District Police Lines in Ramban, were discovered in a car parked at Ziarat Morh in the Sana area of Batote. Local residents transported them to the District Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities have not yet determined the exact circumstances or cause of their deaths. Investigations are underway to clarify the events leading to this incident.
In a related matter, the 17-year-old son of senior BJP leader and MLA Vijay Kumar was reported missing from Kathua district on Tuesday evening. Police have launched a search operation to find the teenager. Although no official statement has been released, sources indicate that police teams have been deployed to locate Aditya Kumar, a Class 11 student.
Preliminary reports suggest that the boy was last seen boarding a bus heading to Jammu from his hometown of Hiranagar around 4:15 p.m. Authorities are currently interviewing the bus driver and conductor to gather more information about his whereabouts. Additionally, police are reviewing CCTV footage from various locations to track his movements since he was last seen.
An alert has been issued throughout the Kathua-Jammu region, with increased monitoring of vehicles heading towards Punjab. Investigators have ruled out any links to terrorism or militant activity in both cases, and inquiries into the mysterious deaths of the two policemen and the disappearance of the BJP leader's son are ongoing.
