A Shocking Domestic Dispute


Baripada: A tragic incident unfolded in Kutiling village, located in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, where a 41-year-old woman lost her life after her husband allegedly struck her on the head due to a dispute over lunch preparations.


According to police reports, the husband, identified as Lama Baskey (55), became enraged when his wife Basanti did not prepare egg curry for their meal. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with a pipe, resulting in her immediate death.


Banamali Barik, the inspector-in-charge at Udala police station, confirmed that the accused has admitted to the crime.


The deceased's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at the Udala Sub Divisional Hospital.


Following a complaint filed by Basanti's mother, Main Hembram, authorities arrested the husband.
