In a heartbreaking incident in a village of Satna district, two minor girls lost their lives after falling into a borewell. A police official provided this information on Monday.

According to the officer, one girl's body was discovered around 9:30 PM on Sunday, while the other was found shortly after midnight at 12:15 AM.

The tragedy occurred in the village of Hilaundha during the rice planting season. Ashok Pandey, the station in-charge of Nagod, reported that families from Salaiya Har, including Chhaggū Ahirwar, had gone to a field in Hilaundha for planting.

During this time, Chhaggū's daughter, Somvati (16), and Santosh Ahirwar's daughter, Durga (12), also arrived at the field. Pandey explained that due to the water-filled borewell, they were unable to see it and fell in.

Upon receiving news of the incident, Nagod SDM Jeetendra Verma and police forces rushed to the scene. Pandey noted that Somvati's body was retrieved from the borewell around 9:30 PM, and after a late-night operation, Durga's body was recovered around midnight.

The bodies have been sent to the government hospital in Nagod for post-mortem examination. The officer mentioned that the rescue operation faced challenges due to the water in the field and the darkness.
