Search Underway for Missing Sisters in Balasore
In Balasore, Odisha, two young sisters have gone missing after being swept away by the powerful currents of the Subarnarekha river on Saturday, according to local police reports.
The girls were playing near the Sikharpur Ghat in Jaleswar when the incident occurred, prompting immediate search efforts.
Hailing from the nearby Chakahari village, the sisters ventured into the river without their family's knowledge.
Upon learning of the situation, personnel from the Fire Service and the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) initiated a search operation, as stated by Subrat Behera, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Jaleswar.
Currently, two teams of firefighters and one team from ODRAF are actively searching for the missing girls.
