In a heartbreaking incident in Maharajganj district, a student reportedly took his own life after receiving disappointing scores in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Authorities shared this information on Sunday.


According to police reports, the body of 22-year-old Shakib Saif was discovered hanging from a noose in his room on Saturday night, located in the Sadar Kotwali police jurisdiction. Originally from Gorakhpur, Saif was residing in Maharajganj to prepare for medical entrance examinations.


Officials revealed that Saif was disheartened after the NEET results were announced on Saturday, where he secured an all-India rank of 9561. It is believed that this unexpected outcome led him to take such a drastic step. Station Officer Satyendra Kumar Rai confirmed that an investigation is underway, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
