Medical Worker Found Dead in Pratapgarh

A health worker at a medical college in the Fulwariya Tripurari Nagar area of Pratapgarh district reportedly took his own life by shooting himself in the head with a firearm.

According to Prashant Raj, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Circle Officer) for the area, the deceased, 32-year-old Atul Pandey, was employed as a staff nurse in the ICU ward of the medical college.

On Tuesday night, he shot himself with an illegal .315 bore firearm at his residence in Fulwariya Tripurari Nagar. Hearing the gunshot, family members rushed to the room and immediately took him to the medical college for treatment, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

The police recovered the firearm from the scene and have sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Investigations are underway to determine the reasons behind this tragic incident.
