Tragic Incident in Uttar Pradesh: Man Dies and Woman Severely Injured After Jumping in Front of Train

Tragic Events in Bhadohi District

Uttar Pradesh: A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Bhadohi district on Tuesday night, where a man lost his life and a woman suffered severe injuries after they jumped in front of a train. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Rohit Kumar Yadav, while the woman, Kajal Gautam, who survived, lost both her legs. The incident took place near the Kandhiya railway crossing around 10 PM on May 20, 2025.

Witness Accounts of the Incident

Local police officer Ramesh Kumar reported that witnesses observed the couple exiting an auto-rickshaw before they approached the railway tracks, located about 100 meters from the crossing near the Bhadohi-Varanasi border. Kajal Gautam was promptly transported to Maharaja Balwant Singh Government Hospital, while Yadav was pronounced dead at the scene.

Critical Condition of the Survivor

Gautam has since been referred to the trauma center at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, where her condition remains critical. It has come to light that Yadav, who was married with two children, had been in a relationship with Gautam for approximately a year. They had aspirations of marrying each other despite their families' disapproval.
