Tragic Incident in Ujjain: Young Man Commits Suicide After Desperate Attempt to Contact Girlfriend

A shocking incident unfolded in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday evening. A young man from Betul district traveled approximately 370 kilometers on his scooter, driven by a desperate need to speak with his girlfriend. Tragically, he ended his life by shooting himself in front of her. The deceased has been identified as Nikhil Ahke, a resident of Sarani in Betul.

Nikhil was reportedly in a romantic relationship with a young woman who had recently stopped communicating with him, leading him into a deep state of distress. The young woman had arrived at her sister's home in Bengali Colony, located in the Neelganga police station area, just two days prior.

Journey of 370 km on a Scooter

According to reports, Nikhil was so anxious to talk to his girlfriend that he took his scooter and drove straight to Ujjain. He arrived at around 5:30 to 6:00 PM and entered the home of the young woman's brother-in-law, Vinay Gayani.

Locked Family Members in a Room Before Taking His Life

Witnesses stated that upon entering the house, Nikhil created a commotion. He locked the young woman's sister and a child in a room and insisted on speaking with her. He reportedly said, "Tell your sister to talk to me; she hasn’t been responding to me." When the young woman refused to engage and asked him to leave, Nikhil went to the courtyard and shot himself in the chest with a pistol he had.

Police Investigation Underway

The sound of the gunshot caused panic in the area. The Neelganga police and CSP Deepika Shinde arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. A significant question now facing the police is the source of the illegal firearm (pistol) in Nikhil's possession. Was he intending to harm the young woman or her family? The police are currently recording statements from family members and conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
