Heartbreaking Crime in Kamaraeddy

Hyderabad: A deeply disturbing event unfolded in Kamaraeddy, Telangana, where a father allegedly drowned his three daughters due to financial hardships, according to police reports released on Sunday.

The remains of Ayat (7) and Mariyam (5) were retrieved from the lake on Saturday night, while Shifat (8) was found the following morning.

Authorities have taken Ismail, an autorickshaw driver, into custody, and he was placed under judicial remand on Sunday.

In a twist, Ismail initially approached the police to report his daughters missing after committing the act. However, during questioning, inconsistencies in his story led to further investigation, ultimately resulting in his confession.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Chaitanya Reddy provided insights into the case during a press briefing, stating that the children's parents reported them missing at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, claiming they hadn't seen them since 10 a.m.

To locate the missing girls, police formed five teams and circulated their photographs on social media.

The ASP noted that Ismail had claimed he took his daughters out for breakfast before dropping them off, but his conflicting statements raised suspicions.

After reviewing CCTV footage and phone records, police interrogated him again, leading to his admission of guilt. He guided officers to Peddacheruvu Lake, where a scarf belonging to one of the children was discovered. Divers were then deployed to recover the bodies.

Ismail's wife, Shabeena, was at work during the incident, leaving him alone with the children.

During questioning, Ismail revealed his struggles with financial issues, stating he had accumulated debts exceeding Rs 5 lakh.

The police plan to request his custody for further investigation.
