Tragic Incident in Saharanpur: Woman Jumps in Front of Train, Mother Rescued

In a heartbreaking event in the Devband area of Saharanpur district, a woman took her own life by jumping in front of an oncoming train, while her mother attempted to do the same but was saved by bystanders. Authorities reported the incident on Saturday.

According to a police official, the woman was reportedly distressed due to family issues.

Sagar Jain, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), stated that the tragic occurrence took place late Friday night when 45-year-old Shivali was walking near the tracks with her 65-year-old mother, Vinod Gambhir.

As a train approached from the Saharanpur direction, Shivali unexpectedly leaped onto the tracks. Fortunately, nearby individuals intervened and prevented her mother from following suit. Jain further noted that both the mother and daughter were believed to be suffering from mental health challenges.
