Tragic Incident in Navi Mumbai: Mother Arrested for Allegedly Killing Daughter Over Language Barrier

Shocking Crime Unfolds in Navi Mumbai

In a deeply unsettling event in Navi Mumbai, a mother has been accused of murdering her six-year-old daughter due to the child's inability to speak Marathi, a situation that has shocked the local community.

Authorities apprehended the mother after she attempted to disguise the child's death as a heart attack.

The case came to light when police, suspicious of the circumstances, ordered a post-mortem that revealed the girl had died from asphyxiation.

Intensive questioning led to the discovery of the grim truth.

The tragic incident occurred in the Kalamboli area of Navi Mumbai, where the 30-year-old mother allegedly strangled her daughter in their residence at Gurusankalp Housing Society.

The Kalamboli police have taken the woman into custody and are conducting a thorough investigation.

According to police reports, the family included an IT engineer and his wife, who holds a B.Sc. degree. They married in 2017 and welcomed their daughter in 2019.

From an early age, the child struggled with speech, primarily communicating in Hindi rather than Marathi, which reportedly frustrated her mother.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the mother frequently expressed her dissatisfaction with her daughter's speech, often telling her husband, 'I don’t want such a child; she doesn’t speak properly.'

The husband reportedly tried to address her concerns multiple times.

On the night of December 23, the mother allegedly made the decision to end her daughter's life. Coincidentally, the grandmother visited that day but did not see the girl.

When the husband returned home and found the child unresponsive, they rushed her to the hospital.

Initially, it was claimed that the child had suffered a heart attack. However, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Kote of Kalamboli Police Station found the situation suspicious and ordered a post-mortem.

The preliminary report indicated airway obstruction, suggesting asphyxiation.

Following this finding, police interrogated the parents for several hours. After nearly six hours, the mother reportedly confessed to strangling her daughter.

She has been arrested in connection with the crime.

The investigation has also revealed that the woman was receiving psychiatric treatment.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to explore all aspects of the case, including the mental health of the accused.
