Young Man's Suicide Linked to Debt Issues

A 30-year-old man reportedly overwhelmed by debt took his own life in his home located in the Kodikal area of Mangaluru. This unfortunate event was confirmed by local police on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Nikhil Pujari. According to police reports, Nikhil locked himself in his room after having breakfast on Tuesday morning. His family, aware of his tendency to sleep late, did not initially worry when he remained in his room until the evening.

Concerns arose when family members knocked on the door for an extended period without receiving a response. Upon peering through the door, they discovered him hanging inside the room.

Authorities stated, “Investigations revealed that he had accumulated debts through various loan applications, leading to significant financial strain and ongoing stress.” A case has been registered at the Urwa police station, and the investigation is currently underway.
