Shocking Murder-Suicide in Renapur

A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Renapur area of Latur, where a son murdered his elderly mother over a dispute regarding the sale of their farmland. Following the crime, he took his own life. This tragic event came to light on Thursday, and by Friday, authorities had registered a murder case against the deceased son. Both mother and son were cremated together in Sangvi.


Sequence of Events: Suicide Followed by Discovery of the Body
On Thursday evening around 4:30 PM, 48-year-old Kakasaheb Venunath Jadhav, a resident of Sangvi, hanged himself from a lemon tree in Renapur Pimpalphata. Police arrived at the scene to investigate. However, the situation escalated when, a few hours later, around 9 PM, the body of his 80-year-old mother, Samindrabai Jadhav, was discovered in a nearby field. Both bodies were sent for autopsy and later returned to the family for the final rites, which were conducted together.


Anger Leads to Tragedy
Investigations revealed that Kakasaheb was in a heated argument with his mother regarding the sale of their land, which Samindrabai opposed. In a fit of rage, he brutally assaulted her and strangled her to death.


Cover-Up Attempt
After committing the murder, Kakasaheb buried his mother's body in a sugarcane field to conceal the crime. However, just hours later, he ended his own life by hanging. The police have since filed a murder case against the deceased son, Kakasaheb Jadhav.
