In a disturbing event from Kasganj district, Uttar Pradesh, a young boy was shot during a naming ceremony after an argument over water for mixing with alcohol. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community. The child, aged 9, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the incident occurred in the Yakutganj village under the jurisdiction of the Sahawar police station. Anuj, the uncle of the deceased child, recounted that the tragic event took place on a Friday at the home of Jasveer Gola, where the naming ceremony was being held. Many relatives and villagers had gathered for the occasion, including Dhanesh Yadav, a relative from the Soron area. Dhanesh, who was intoxicated, asked the boy, Yashpal (nicknamed Yash), to fetch water. When Yash refused, Dhanesh, in a fit of rage, shot him in the abdomen.
Child's Death During Treatment
The atmosphere turned chaotic immediately after the shooting. Yash was quickly taken to the district hospital in Kasganj. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to a hospital in Aligarh, where he tragically passed away the following day.
Arrest of the Accused
Police Chief Govind Ballabh Sharma confirmed that a case was registered promptly following a complaint from the victim's family. The Kasganj police acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect near the Khitoli canal bridge. A firearm used in the crime was also recovered from him. ASP Rajesh Kumar Bharti stated that the process of sending the accused to jail is underway, and the police are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the case.
