Tragic Incident in Karnataka: Young Man's Suicide Leads to Father's Heart Attack
Heartbreaking Events Unfold in Yadgir District
In a distressing occurrence in Yadgir district, Karnataka, a 22-year-old man named Mehaboob took his own life due to fears of being arrested in connection with an atrocity case. Tragically, his father, Syed, succumbed to a heart attack after learning of his son's death.
Both individuals were residents of Vadagera village. Reports indicate that a week prior, Mehaboob had an argument with a Dalit family over a pathway that led to his family's agricultural land, which crossed through the Dalit family's property.
Initially, the Dalit family considered filing a police complaint against Mehaboob. However, village elders intervened, mediating between the parties and persuading the Dalit family to refrain from pursuing legal action.
Despite this resolution, a leader from a nearby village allegedly ensured that a police case was lodged against Mehaboob and his father. Overwhelmed by the prospect of arrest and legal repercussions, Mehaboob tragically hanged himself from a tree on his farmland.
Syed, unable to cope with the devastating news of his son's passing, suffered a heart attack and was taken to Kalaburagi Jayadeva Hospital, where he died early Thursday morning.
The family of the deceased has alleged ongoing harassment from the Dalit family following the dispute. Mehaboob's mother had sought the help of village elders to resolve the conflict, but her attempts were unsuccessful.
She now asserts that her son was murdered rather than having died by suicide. The police have committed to investigating the situation thoroughly, although initial findings suggest that Mehaboob's death was indeed a suicide.
The Vadagera police have opened a case and are actively looking into the incident. Tensions remain high in the area as friends and family gather at Mehaboob's home, demanding justice and accountability for the alleged harassment.
