Fatal Collapse in Jharkhand Coal Mine

In a tragic event in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand, a section of a coal mine collapsed during illegal mining operations, resulting in one fatality. Authorities reported that several individuals may still be trapped in the debris. This incident occurred early Saturday morning in the Karma area of the district.


A rescue team has been dispatched to the site to assist in recovery efforts. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, the officer in charge of the Kuju police station, stated, "So far, one body has been recovered, and the rescue operation is ongoing. There are concerns that more individuals may be trapped within the mine."


Local villagers were reportedly engaged in unauthorized coal extraction when the collapse happened. Faiz Ak Ahmad Mumtaz, the Deputy Commissioner of Ramgarh, confirmed to the media, "We received information about the incident in the morning. A team from the administration has been sent to investigate the matter."
