Tragic Incident in Firozabad: Five Lives Lost Due to Fallen Tree
Severe Weather Causes Fatal Accident
On Monday night, a severe storm accompanied by heavy rain struck Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh, leading to a tragic incident. Near the village of Chidrai in the Faridha police jurisdiction, a large neem tree uprooted and fell onto an e-rickshaw filled with passengers parked by the roadside.
The e-rickshaw was completely crushed, trapping all individuals inside. Local villagers, along with police and rescue teams, utilized a JCB machine to remove the tree and free the victims. Unfortunately, five individuals succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital, and three others are reported to be in critical condition and receiving treatment.
Among the deceased are the driver of the e-rickshaw and four passengers. Authorities have instructed that the injured receive the best possible medical care. Following the incident, district administration and senior police officials arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the strong winds were the primary cause of the tree's uprooting.
The meteorological department has forecasted the possibility of severe storms and heavy rainfall in several districts of Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours. Residents are advised to avoid taking shelter under trees and weak structures during such weather conditions.
