A shocking incident has emerged from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, where a stepmother has been accused of brutally beating her 3-year-old daughter to death in Surajawali village, located in the Pahasu police jurisdiction. This tragic event has left the local community in mourning and outrage.

According to police reports, the accused, identified as Poonam, had a troubled relationship with her stepdaughter. On Wednesday, after becoming upset over a minor issue, Poonam allegedly launched a vicious attack on the innocent child. The severity of the beating was such that the child's condition deteriorated rapidly. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the injuries were so severe that doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Police Response

Upon receiving news of the incident, law enforcement officials were quick to respond. Shashank Srivastava, the Circle Officer of Shikarpur, arrived at the village with a team to assess the situation. The police acted swiftly, taking the accused mother, Poonam, into custody.

CO Shashank Srivastava informed the media that initial investigations revealed that the child's health had worsened due to the abuse inflicted by her stepmother, leading to her death en route to the hospital. The police have seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
