House Collapse Claims Life in Bhadohi

In a heartbreaking incident in a village within the Suriyawa area of Bhadohi, an elderly woman lost her life when a mud house collapsed due to continuous rainfall. Her daughter-in-law sustained serious injuries, as reported by local authorities on Friday.

Ajit Kumar Srivastava, the officer in charge of Suriyawa police station, shared that the house belonging to Vijay Shankar Gautam in Gopipur village suddenly crumbled late Thursday evening.

At the time of the collapse, Ranjana Devi, aged 75, and her daughter-in-law Sarita Devi, aged 40, were preparing dinner. The incessant rain had thoroughly soaked the earthen walls surrounding the house, leading to the tragic incident.

Local residents managed to rescue both women from the debris and rushed them to the district hospital. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced Ranjana Devi dead upon arrival, while Sarita Devi is currently receiving medical treatment. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further actions are underway.
