Tragic Loss in Chittoor District

In a heartbreaking incident in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, a family of four lost their lives on Sunday due to a vehicle maintenance mishap. The family, residing on Tyagaraju Street in Punganur, had recently repaired the engine of their two-wheeler. A local mechanic had advised them to keep the engine running overnight to ensure the new parts were properly set. Unfortunately, this advice turned fatal for the family.

Following the mechanic's suggestion, they left the engine running and parked the bike inside their home, closing all windows and doors in their poorly ventilated house. As a result, the exhaust fumes had no escape route, leading to a buildup of carbon monoxide—a colorless, odorless, yet deadly gas—in the room where the family was sleeping.

Tragically, the couple and their two children succumbed to asphyxiation. Concerned neighbors alerted the local police, who forced entry into the home and discovered the deceased family members. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, highlighting the dangers of operating vehicle engines or generators in enclosed spaces.
