Fatal Road Accident Claims Eight Lives
Ambedkar Nagar: A tragic accident occurred late Sunday night, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals after a speeding vehicle struck a group of people who had gathered to assist injured motorcyclists, according to police reports.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 PM near Ashrafpur Bhua village on the Jalalpur-Akbarpur road in Ambedkar Nagar district, as stated by ASP (East) Tejvir Singh.
Earlier, two motorcycles had collided, injuring two riders. As locals rushed to the scene to provide help, a car sped into the crowd, causing widespread panic.
Emergency responders transported the injured to a community health center, where six were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Two others, who were critically hurt, were transferred to the Ambedkar Nagar district hospital and subsequently to a more advanced facility in Tanda, where they later died, raising the total fatalities to eight, according to the ASP.
The victims have been identified as Kaifi (32), Uttam Kumar (24), Aditya Kumar (25), Lalchand (24), Raju Gupta (32), Chhotu, along with two unidentified individuals, as per police information.
The driver of the car fled the scene following the incident, and authorities are actively working to locate and apprehend the suspect.
