A 40-year-old member of the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), Isakkiyappan, reportedly set himself on fire in protest against the delay in Vijay's appointment as Chief Minister, resulting in severe burns. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. This incident follows a shocking act from four months ago when he allegedly pierced his face with a 16-foot-long Vel stone while praying for Vijay's ascension to the chief ministerial position.

In light of escalating tensions surrounding the formation of the government in Tamil Nadu, Tamilisai Soundararajan from the BJP has called on Vijay to advocate for peace.
