Heartbreaking Accident Claims Young Life
Bhadrak: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has conveyed his profound sorrow regarding the unfortunate passing of 12-year-old Soumyaranjan Raut from Anaharapur village. The young boy tragically lost his life when a DJ truck overturned during the Rath Yatra festivities.
The accident took place in the Bhagabanpur panchayat within the Dhamnagar block, where the DJ vehicle tipped over while traversing a damaged road adjacent to a canal near the Anaharapur market.
Soumyaranjan had attended the chariot procession when he became trapped under the vehicle, sustaining severe injuries. Despite being rushed to a medical facility, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. In his message of condolence, Majhi pledged financial aid of Rs 4 lakh to the boy's mother through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Furthermore, the government will cover the educational costs for Soumyaranjan's younger sister, Subilata, who is currently in Class III, providing her with Rs 4,000 monthly under the Batsalya Yojana until she reaches 18 years of age. An additional Rs 25,000 was also allocated from the district Red Cross fund. District Collector Dilip Routrai has instructed the prompt disbursement of this assistance.
