Tragic Incident: Camel Kills Owner in Rajasthan
Shocking Death of a Farmer
A disturbing incident has emerged from Churu district in Rajasthan. A farmer, who had taken loans to purchase a camel for his family's sustenance, met a horrific fate when the animal attacked him. The camel reportedly clamped its jaws around the farmer's head, crushing it like a watermelon, and tossed him several times before throwing him to the ground. The farmer died on the spot, leaving his family in shock. Currently, the camel has been tied to a tree, and the family is contemplating its fate.
The Camel's Role in the Family
According to local police, Ram Lal, the deceased, had bought the camel about a month ago from a resident of Churu district. Initially, he kept the camel tied near his home and later began using it for work. The camel assisted Ram Lal in his labor, helping him provide for his three children.
A Fatal Encounter
On Saturday, while preparing to tie the camel to a cart, Ram Lal inadvertently provoked it. The camel knocked him down, and as he attempted to rise, it seized his head in its jaws. Despite Ram Lal's screams, he succumbed within seconds as the camel crushed his skull.
Family's Reaction to the Tragedy
After the incident, family members attempted to control the camel, which remained near Ram Lal's body for a considerable time. Eventually, they tied it to a khejri tree but did not face any further aggression from the animal. However, they have decided against keeping it and are preparing to put it down.
Similar Incidents in the Region
This tragic event is reminiscent of a similar case that occurred five months ago in Bikaner, where a father of four was killed by his camel in a similar manner. Following that incident, enraged family members had tied the camel to a tree and beaten it to death.
Handling Aggressive Camels
Animal owners have noted that camels are particularly sensitive creatures. When provoked, they can become uncontrollable, leading to dangerous situations. There have been multiple fatalities resulting from camel attacks in the past.
