Fatal Accident at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd


Visakhapatnam: A tragic incident occurred at the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (Vizag Steel Plant) on Monday, resulting in the deaths of six workers due to molten iron spilling onto them, as reported by officials.


Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav received updates from district health officials, indicating that by 6:30 PM on Monday, the remains of four of the deceased had been transported to the plant's general hospital.


An official statement confirmed, "A total of six casualties have been reported to the general hospital of the steel plant."


Earlier, an official mentioned, "We are currently conducting rescue operations."


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's office released a statement acknowledging the multiple fatalities in this industrial mishap. Naidu expressed profound sorrow over the incident and instructed all departments to collaborate in providing assistance.


According to police reports, the molten iron spilled while being transported in a crane bucket, with temperatures reaching approximately 1,600 degrees Celsius.
