Incident Overview

On Tuesday, a patient at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Telangana passed away, while around 70 others experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea. Reports indicate that the deceased patient had not shown any signs of movement since the morning. Medical staff on duty attempted to revive him using CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), but their efforts were unsuccessful.


Official Response

Anudeep Durishetty, the District Collector of Hyderabad, visited the IMH following the incident. He informed reporters that the patient was transferred to the Government Osmania General Hospital (OGH), where doctors confirmed that the patient had already succumbed to death. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of the death. Durishetty also mentioned that by Tuesday evening, approximately 65 to 70 patients had reported symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
