Tragic Incident at OYO Hotel in Northeast Delhi: Couple Found Dead

A disturbing incident unfolded near the Maujpur Metro Station in the Jaffrabad area of Northeast Delhi, where a couple was found dead in an OYO hotel. The situation escalated on Friday afternoon when the couple, who had checked in earlier, failed to emerge from their room by evening.

According to reports, Sohrab (28) and Ayesha (27) checked into the hotel around 1:02 PM. Ayesha was already married and had two children. The couple was said to be in love. When they did not exit their room by evening, hotel staff grew concerned. By approximately 7:45 PM, after repeated knocking yielded no response, the police were alerted.

The Jaffrabad police received a call around 8 PM regarding a locked hotel room with no response. A beat constable arrived at the scene, and hotel staff used a master key to open the door. The sight inside was shocking—Sohrab was found hanging from the ceiling fan, while Ayesha lay dead on the bed with visible injuries to her neck.

During the investigation, a half-page suicide note written in Hindi was discovered in the room. The note expressed the couple's love for each other and their decision to end their lives together. The police took possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations, and forensic and crime teams conducted an investigation at the scene.

According to police officials, Sohrab was from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and efforts were underway to contact his family. Ayesha's husband arrived at the scene upon learning of the incident and informed the police that he did not know Sohrab. Ayesha was identified as a resident of C Block, Lane No. 10 in Loni, Uttar Pradesh, and was survived by her husband, Mohammad Gulfam, and two young sons.

This incident has emerged as a notable case in 2023, intertwining themes of romantic relationships, family dynamics, and the tragic possibility of suicide. Further actions will be based on the post-mortem report and the findings of the investigation. Over time, this event has been remembered as a haunting story of two lives ending behind a closed hotel room door in Northeast Delhi.
