Tragic Incident at OYO Hotel in Northeast Delhi: Couple Found Dead
Disturbing Discovery at a Local Hotel
A shocking incident unfolded near the Maujpur metro station in Northeast Delhi, specifically at an OYO hotel located in the Jaffrabad area. On a Friday afternoon, a couple checked into the hotel, but by evening, when their room remained unresponsive, the situation took a tragic turn.
Reports indicate that Sohrab, aged 28, and Aisha, 27, checked in around 1:02 PM. Aisha was already married and had two children. It was noted that the two were in love. As evening approached and they did not emerge from their room, hotel staff grew suspicious. By approximately 7:45 PM, after repeated knocking yielded no response, the police were alerted.
The Jaffrabad police received a call around 8 PM regarding a locked hotel room near the Maujpur metro station with no response from inside. A beat constable arrived at the scene, and the hotel staff used a master key to open the door. Upon entry, the scene was shocking—Sohrab was found hanging from the ceiling fan, while Aisha lay dead on the bed, with visible injuries to her neck.
During the investigation, a half-page suicide note written in Hindi was discovered in the room. The note expressed their love for each other and their decision to end their lives together. The police took possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations, and forensic and crime teams conducted an investigation at the site.
According to police officials, Sohrab was from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and efforts were underway to contact his family. Aisha's husband arrived at the scene upon learning of the incident and informed the police that he did not know Sohrab. Aisha was identified as a resident of C Block, Lane No. 10 in Loni, Uttar Pradesh, and was survived by her husband, Mohammad Gulfam, and two young sons.
This incident emerged as a notable case in 2023, intertwining themes of romantic relationships, family dynamics, and the tragic specter of suicide. Further actions were to be determined based on the post-mortem report and the findings of the investigation. Over time, this event has remained etched in the crime history of Northeast Delhi, remembered as the story of a hotel room that witnessed the end of two lives behind a closed door.
