Tragic Incident at Mumbai Music Event: Young Man Dies, Woman Hospitalized
Incident Overview
In the early hours of Sunday, a music event in Mumbai's Worli area turned tragic when a 28-year-old man suddenly passed away, while a woman was hospitalized due to health complications. Authorities have stated that initial investigations found no evidence of drug use, although both individuals had consumed alcohol.
Details of the Event
The incident occurred during the 'Clangquensler All Night Long' musical show at the NSCI Dome in Worli. An officer from the Tardeo police station reported that the young man experienced a medical emergency mid-event and lost consciousness. He was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in Malabar Hill, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Possible Cause of Death
According to police officials, dehydration is being considered a potential cause of death based on preliminary investigations. However, the exact cause will be determined following a post-mortem and further medical examinations.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are taking this matter seriously. They are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage from the venue and surrounding areas to understand the sequence of events that night.
Woman's Condition
A 31-year-old woman who attended the same music event also fell ill. She was quickly taken to Jaslok Hospital, where her condition is currently stable and no longer critical. During questioning, she revealed that she had consumed energy drinks along with alcohol, which led to her feeling anxious.
Denial of Drug Overdose
Police have dismissed any speculation regarding a drug overdose in this case. An officer stated, "Our investigation so far has not uncovered any evidence of drug use." Separate accidental death reports (ADR) have been filed for both incidents at the Tardeo police station.
Previous Incident
It's worth noting that a similar incident occurred in April this year at the Nesco Exhibition Center in Goregaon, where two MBA students died during a music concert, allegedly due to a drug overdose, leading to several arrests. However, in the Worli case, police are refuting any connection to drugs.
