Karnataka News: A festive celebration in Belagavi district of Karnataka turned tragic when long-standing political and personal rivalries culminated in a fatal incident. This shocking event occurred during the Siddeshwar fair in the village of Hannikeri, causing widespread alarm in the community. The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Sangnagouda Patil, who had been embroiled in a feud with the accused family for several years.

Tensions escalated during the Siddeshwar fair when Sangnagouda danced in front of the home of his political adversaries. The opponents objected to his presence, leading to a heated exchange between the two parties.

Brutal Attack and Fatality

Assault with Weapons

The dispute intensified, resulting in the assailants losing control and launching a violent attack on Sangnagouda. He was brutally assaulted with sickles, axes, and iron rods. Despite being rushed to the district hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route.

Police Response: Eight Arrested

The Nesargi police have swiftly acted by registering a case related to this murder. So far, eight suspects have been apprehended. The arrested individuals have been identified as Demappa Balagannavara, Manjunath Balagannavara, Rudrappa, Vijay, Surappa, Siddappa, Nagaraj, and Basavantappa. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
