Accident at Humayun's Tomb Complex

A significant tragedy unfolded in the Humayun's Tomb complex located in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi. On Friday afternoon, a section of the wall of a shrine within the complex collapsed, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. Among the deceased are three women and two men.




Rescue Operations Underway


The Delhi Fire Service received reports of the incident around 3:51 PM, prompting immediate action from rescue teams. Officials indicated that there are still concerns that seven more individuals may be trapped under the debris, leading to ongoing rescue efforts. So far, 11 people have been successfully rescued from the site and have been transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.




Humayun's Tomb is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a prominent tourist attraction from the 16th century, drawing large crowds throughout the year.
