Fatal Incident During Anti-Naxal Operation


Rourkela: A tragic incident occurred in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Saturday when a CRPF officer lost his life due to an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion during an anti-Naxal operation, according to officials.


The officer, Assistant Sub Inspector Satyaban Kumar Singh, aged 34, was part of the 134th battalion of the CRPF and suffered severe injuries to his left leg from the blast.


He was promptly transported to a medical facility in Rourkela, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, as reported by officials.


Singh was originally from Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh.


The explosion occurred around 6 AM near K Balang village while a combined team of the Central Reserve Police Force and the special operations group of Odisha Police was conducting a combing operation in the vicinity.
