Tragic Hotel Fire in Kolkata Claims Lives of Three from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Family sources have reported that three individuals from Jagatsinghpur district in Odisha were among the 14 victims of a tragic hotel fire in central Kolkata.
The victims have been identified as Manoj Kumar Patra (45), Dushmanta Kumar Nayak (46), and Dushmanta Kumar Swain (46). All three were employed by a private finance firm based in Bhubaneswar and were in Kolkata for work-related purposes.
Naveen Patnaik, the president of the BJD and former chief minister, expressed his sorrow on social media, stating, "It is heartbreaking to learn of the untimely death of 14 people, including three youths from Jagatsinghpur district in a hotel fire in Kolkata. I pray for the eternal peace of their souls and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families."
The fire erupted at a budget hotel located in the densely populated Mechuapatti area of Burrabazar on Tuesday night, resulting in at least 14 fatalities and injuring 13 others, according to officials.
Most of the victims succumbed to suffocation, while some reportedly jumped from upper floors in a state of panic.
