Tragic Honor Killing: Young Girl Murdered by Family Over Education

A Shocking Incident Unfolds

An 18-year-old girl, who was set to enroll in a government medical college, was tragically murdered by her own family. Authorities have classified this incident as an honor killing, implicating her father and uncle in the crime.

The Events Leading to the Tragedy

The girl had worked tirelessly to score 478 marks in the NEET exam, securing her admission to a government medical college. However, her family prioritized their 'honor' over her education and future.

According to police reports, the girl's uncle expressed concerns that if she attended a co-educational college, she might fall in love with a boy, leading to potential disgrace for the family. Consequently, her family confiscated her phone, cut her off from social media, and confined her to household chores.

The Gruesome Murder

As per the FIR, the uncle, following the father's instructions, mixed a sedative into the girl's milk. Once she became unconscious, they took her to a storeroom and strangled her with a scarf. They then attempted to stage the scene as a suicide.

In a bid to mislead the villagers, the father told some that she had suffered a heart attack, while to others, he claimed she had taken her own life. He urged everyone to keep the truth hidden. Investigations revealed that this was a premeditated murder. Currently, the girl's father is on the run, while her uncle is in police custody.
