Devastating Accident in Jabalpur
Jabalpur Accident: A shocking hit-and-run incident has emerged from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, where a reckless driver under the influence of alcohol devastated two families. In the Dhanwantari Nagar area, an out-of-control Creta car struck three motorcyclists parked by the roadside. The impact was so severe that the car flipped twice before landing on the bikers. Tragically, two young men lost their lives at the scene, while another sustained serious injuries. Authorities are currently working to identify the second deceased individual.
According to police reports, the deceased, Ganesh Prasad Kumar, was a resident of Aadhar Tal Maharajpur and had come to Dhanwantari Nagar with his son Shubham to attend a wedding. Amidst the festive atmosphere, they stopped to get water when they were suddenly struck by a speeding white Creta car, MP 20 ZB 2934.
Eyewitness Shama Khan, who was nearby with her children, recounted, “A fast-moving car came and flipped three times. Two vehicles were completely crushed beneath it. The scene was horrifying, and we were terrified. Thank God my children were safe, but those young men had no chance to escape.” She noted that the driver appeared to be heavily intoxicated and had lost control of the vehicle.
Interestingly, at the time of the accident, police were conducting checks in a nearby area. Despite the police presence, the intoxicated driver recklessly sped through the streets. Following the crash, chaos ensued, but local residents bravely apprehended the fleeing driver and handed him over to the police.
Suspect Arrested, Investigation Underway by Gadh Police
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived at the scene. Investigating officer SI Yogendra Singh stated that a four-wheeler was involved in the collision with three vehicles due to negligent driving. Two fatalities occurred, and one person was injured. The driver, Kishan Chaudhary from Kathonda, has been taken into custody for medical testing. The car is registered under Arvind Chaudhary's name and has been towed to the police station for further investigation.
Shubham Kumar, the injured party, was rushed to a medical facility via ambulance, where his condition remains critical. Meanwhile, police are working to identify the second victim. Gadh police have seized the wrecked vehicle and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. This tragic event raises serious questions about the effectiveness of road checks, as it highlights the ongoing issue of drunk driving on Jabalpur's streets.
